Mind-Body Renewal Therapy Services
About Me
Hi, I’m Sarah.
I created Mind-Body Renewal Therapy Services as a space for people to become their most authentic and aligned versions of themselves. So many of us deeply desire that, yet struggle to find a path toward it—feeling as though something is always missing or standing in the way.
Many of the people who come to me are exhausted from trying to hold everything together on their own. Some feel defeated after years of talk therapy without lasting change. Others are overwhelmed, burned out, and ready to stop carrying everything alone.
Many of my clients are deeply self-aware, emotionally intelligent, and intuitive. Yet despite understanding themselves on an intellectual level, they still feel stuck, disconnected, or unable to make sense of what is happening inside. They're ready for something different.
Sarah Drake, MA, LPCC
Many people come to therapy confused about why they can't seem to create change when they know exactly what's going on. They can identify their patterns, understand where they came from, and often know multiple ways they could respond differently—yet find themselves repeating the same cycles over and over again.
For many of my clients, insight isn't enough.
It's common to feel like you're talking about the same things in therapy without experiencing meaningful change. This is often what brings people to my practice.
Mind-Body Renewal Therapy is built on the understanding that the mind and body are deeply connected. They are not separate systems, which means they cannot be treated as separate systems.
For many of us—including myself—trying to "master the mind" doesn't necessarily alleviate our experience when it is our body that is asking for attention.
When Understanding Isn’t Creating Change
A Neuro-Affirming, Mind-Body Approach
For those who have experienced trauma or are neurodivergent—such as ADHD, Autism, and other forms of neurodiversity—chronic nervous system dysregulation may be playing a significant role in daily life.
No matter how much we try to think our way through emotions, stress, overwhelm, or dysregulation, our nervous systems often have very different needs.
I believe understanding comes before change.
When we understand our nervous system, we become better equipped to identify our needs and respond to them in ways that support healing. What works for one person may not work for another, which is why I offer a neuro-affirming, bottom-up approach to therapy.
Together, we work toward understanding your brain, your body, and your unique needs so that you can live more authentically and in greater alignment with who you truly are.
A Personal Note
As an AuDHD (Autism + ADHD) woman and therapist who has personally gone through the process of understanding my own neurodivergence and healing from trauma, I bring both professional training and lived experience into this work.
When we are neurodivergent, we often feel most understood by those who share similar experiences. I know how powerful it can be to finally feel seen, understood, and accepted for who you are.
One of my favorite parts of this work is creating a safe space where people can unmask, learn about themselves, and discover what truly works for them. Every person I meet has a unique story, unique goals, and unique needs. I love coming alongside people as they move toward healing, authenticity, and alignment.
What You Can Expect
Many people describe working with me as a balance of genuine care, attentiveness, and directness.
I strive to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood while also helping you move toward the goals that matter most to you.
At the foundation of my work is the belief that every human being deserves to be fully known, fully seen, fully accepted, and fully loved—whether the goal is healing trauma, navigating neurodivergence, strengthening relationships, or simply understanding yourself more deeply.
Beyond the Therapy Room
When I'm not in the office, you'll usually find me listening to an audiobook, spending time outdoors, or moving my body in some way.
I've fallen in love with Latin dance, which has become one of my greatest sources of passion, freedom, connection, and groundedness. I cherish spending time with the small circle of people I love and being my authentic, neurodivergent self. And whenever possible, you'll find me soaking up sunshine—I often joke that I'm basically a plant and tend to shrivel up without it.
Education & Credentials
I am an EMDR-trained Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) providing therapy in Ohio and Florida.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Wright State University in 2017 and my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati in 2020.
Prior to entering private practice, I spent two years working within a nonprofit community mental health agency serving underserved communities in Cincinnati. During that time, I gained experience working with trauma, substance use, mood disorders, anger management, and criminal justice involvement.
Over the years, I developed a specialty in trauma, including creating and leading a somatic-based trauma group. Through continued training and clinical experience, I have developed expertise in trauma, nervous system regulation, and neurodiversity-affirming care.
