Mind-Body Renewal Therapy Services

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect in a consultation?

A consultation is an opportunity for us to determine whether we may be a good fit for one another. During our conversation, I'll learn a little about what brings you to therapy and answer any questions you may have about working together. I'll also provide information about the therapy process, scheduling, fees, and logistics. There is no pressure to make a decision during the call—you are welcome to take time afterward to determine whether you'd like to move forward.

Getting Started

How often will we meet?

The frequency of therapy depends on your goals, schedule, finances, and personal preferences.

In my experience, individuals who attend therapy weekly often experience the greatest progress and momentum, particularly at the beginning of treatment. Many clients choose to begin with weekly sessions and transition to every other week as they build skills and move toward their goals.

While less frequent sessions can still be beneficial, they are often most effective for maintenance, continued support, or transitioning out of therapy. Ultimately, we will work together to determine a schedule that best supports your goals and circumstances.

How long will therapy take?

The honest answer is: it depends.

Every individual brings unique experiences, goals, strengths, and challenges to therapy. Some people accomplish their goals within several months, while others choose to engage in therapy for a year or longer as they continue exploring personal growth, trauma healing, relationships, or nervous system regulation.

Healing is rarely a linear process, and there is no universal timeline. Together, we'll regularly evaluate your progress and adjust the therapeutic process to meet your evolving needs and goals.

Working With Me

What if I don't have a formal diagnosis of ADHD or Autism, but think I might be neurodivergent?

A formal diagnosis is not required to benefit from neurodiversity-affirming therapy.

Many individuals begin exploring the possibility of ADHD, Autism, or other forms of neurodivergence long before pursuing a formal evaluation, and some choose not to seek a diagnosis at all. Self-identification can often be highly accurate, particularly when individuals have spent significant time researching and reflecting on their experiences.

Whether you identify as neurodivergent, suspect you may be, or simply relate to certain traits, therapy can provide a space to better understand your brain, nervous system, sensory needs, communication style, and lived experiences without pressure or judgment.

My goal is not to determine whether you "qualify" for a diagnosis, but to help you better understand yourself and create a life that feels more authentic, sustainable, and aligned with your needs.

Do I need trauma to benefit from your approach?

Not at all.

While I specialize in trauma and neurodivergence, I also work with individuals experiencing anxiety, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, emotional overwhelm, depression, anger, and personal growth goals.

The approaches I use can be beneficial for anyone who wants to better understand themselves, improve their relationship with their emotions, strengthen nervous system regulation, and create meaningful change in their lives.

What makes your approach different from traditional talk therapy?

Many of the individuals I work with have spent years developing insight into their thoughts, emotions, and patterns, yet still find themselves feeling stuck. They often know exactly what's happening and even what they "should" do differently, but continue experiencing the same challenges.

For many people, insight isn't enough.

My approach integrates somatic therapy, nervous system work, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and neurodiversity-affirming care to support healing on both a cognitive and physiological level. Rather than focusing solely on changing thoughts, we work to understand the relationship between the mind, body, and nervous system so that lasting change becomes possible.

Fees & Insurance

Do you accept insurance?

I am a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly.

I have chosen this model because it allows me to provide therapy that is individualized, flexible, and centered on your needs rather than insurance requirements. Private pay allows us greater freedom in determining session length, treatment approaches, and the pace of therapy based on what is most beneficial for you.

If your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, I am happy to provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please note that insurance reimbursement typically requires a mental health diagnosis, and reimbursement amounts vary by plan.

I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to determine whether your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits.

You may also use HSA or FSA funds to pay for therapy services.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes. I maintain a limited number of reduced-fee appointments to help increase access to therapy services.

Because availability is limited, reduced-fee openings are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and may involve a waitlist. While I value making therapy as accessible as possible, I am unfortunately unable to offer reduced-fee services to all individuals seeking care.

Please feel free to inquire about current availability if cost is a concern.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

I understand that life happens and schedules occasionally change.

Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled through the client portal with at least 24 hours' notice without penalty.

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the session fee. Missed appointments without notice are charged the full session fee.

I offer one courtesy waiver for a late cancellation to account for emergencies and unexpected life circumstances. Additionally, if we are able to reschedule your appointment within the same calendar week, I will waive the late cancellation fee.

My goal is to create flexibility whenever possible while maintaining a policy that allows me to reserve appointment times for the individuals I serve.
